The Georgian government plans to replace the banks with the Rural Development Agency.
The agency will receive and issue resources for the agro-credits.
The government says that it will provide more profit and finances both for the government and the farmers.
The agency aims to develop agriculture and business in rural areas.
''Farmers will receive more money, and we will see more tangible outcomes. The interest rate will be a benefit for the government,'' the agency reports.
Notably, the government co-sponsorship is 270 million GEL in the two-billion agro-credit issued by the commercial banks.
