Georgian Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili declared that the government allocated ten million GEL from the budget to modernize agriculture.
In his words, the government piloted the essential project via donations several years ago, and now it includes financial support.
''[The project includes] all, farmers need to carry out the agricultural work properly and be competitive,'' he says.
In his words, one of the challenges includes the sponsorship of agricultural equipment.
''We are aware of high demand for greenhouse operation,'' Davitashvili says, adding the government will finance small and average farms, as it has allocated about 50,000 GEL for it.
Notably, the Georgian government plans to assist 200,000 farmers with 300 million GEL.
Farmers will receive 200-GEL financial aid and discount on diesel. They are exempt from irrigation fees in 2020.
The tax allowance budget for farmers includes 13 million GEL.
PM Gakharia says the government will do everything to ensure the cultivation of all land plots across Georgia.
The owners of greenhouses will enjoy halved expenses due to government support.
