As Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated today, farmers who want to purchase equipment or install an irrigation system for a greenhouse will receive 50% funding of the expenses from the government.
''The government will ensure direct financial aid for them,'' Gakharia said, adding the farmers can apply the agricultural departments starting on May 20.
The Georgian government plans to provide 200,000 farmers with 300 million GEL as part of the post-crisis plan.
Farmers will receive 200-GEL aid for each hectare of land.
The government will also provide small land plot owners with assistance.
The program will begin on May 20, 2020.
All farmers are exempt from irrigation fees in 2020.
PM Gakharia says the government will do everything to ensure the cultivation of all land plots across Georgia.
