In March of 2021, Azerbaijan managed to export $ 9.7 million worth of hazelnuts abroad. According to the Center for Economic Reform and Communications Analysis of Azerbaijan, this is $ 4.4 million, or 31.2% less than in March of 2020.
In January-March this year, Azerbaijan exported hazelnuts abroad in the amount of 28.5 million US dollars, 7.8 million US dollars, or 21.5% less than in the first three months of 2020.
Starting from August 1, 2020, to February 9, 2021, Georgia sold 44 tons of nuts in Azerbaijan. Last year, the import of hazelnuts from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in 2020, Georgia imported 553 tons of nuts worth $ 343.12 thousand from Azerbaijan. Statistics show that the Azerbaijani import of hazelnuts to Georgia has decreased by 300.04 tons or 6.4 times annually.
Last year Georgia regained third place among the largest exporters of hazelnuts.
