Laying of high voltage transmission line at the bottom of the Black Sea considered

Laying high voltage transmission line on the bottom of the Black Sea, which will connect the energy system of Georgia and the European Union - this was one of the projects, which, among other important issues, was discussed by the Georgian delegation led by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, at the Association Council meeting in Brussels. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development informed the media about the project.

According to Natia Turnava, the project, which was introduced two or three years ago, is of historical significance.

"The World Bank has confirmed its readiness to finance a full technical and economic study of the project, and we have already informed our friends and colleagues about it. It is also important for us that Western companies take part in this historic project," said the Minister.

Black Sea outbound routes and better connections with European ports, full exploitation of the EU market, and selection of new product groups - these messages were delivered by Georgian delegates in Brussels.

The aid package, financial support, and investments are the main directions that Georgia expects to succeed after the visit. The visit of Irakli Gharibashvili and the government delegation to Brussels started yesterday. The meeting of the Georgia-EU Association Council was held yesterday.
