An agreement has been signed between SOCAR and the Government of Georgia, according to which natural gas from Azerbaijan will be supplied to Georgia's domestic social segment at a preferential price.
Mahir Mammadov, the General Director of SOCAR Energy Georgia, announced the information.
According to him, this will create comfort for social consumers of natural gas in Georgia.
"At the same time, the burden on the state to maintain low gas prices for the population will not increase. On the contrary, this burden will be reduced due to fixed prices," Mammadov said.
Yesterday the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia met with the President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the investment projects implemented by SOCAR in Georgia and the prospects for deepening future cooperation.
