The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava, said after the government session that new airlines are entering the market.
"Oman Air, an Arab carrier, will enter the country and launch flights several times a week. Also, from July, we will have Lufthansa's low-budget subsidiary company Eurowings, which will start operating Tbilisi-Dusseldorf flights several times a week. There is also a permanent demand from the existing airlines to increase the frequencies," Natia Turnava said.
Natia Turnava spoke about tourism flows from neighboring countries at a briefing after the government session.
"We have decided to open the land borders. Rail passenger traffic between Armenia and Georgia got restored. On June 15, the first train via Yerevan in the direction of Yerevan-Batumi-Tbilisi will operate.
Movement along the land border with the Republic of Turkey is underway. The number of tourists from Ukraine has increased. Work is underway with Azerbaijan to simplify the rules," the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava, stated.
