Following the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in the second quarter of 2020, total foreign direct investment in Georgia amounted to 237.8 million USD, which is 0.5% more than in the same period in 2019.

In the reporting period, Great Britain occupied the largest share in the total volume of investments, with 4.8%, followed by the Netherlands (22.4%) and Turkey (13.3%).

The share of the three largest sectors of the economy (under the implemented direct foreign investments) in the second quarter of 2020 amounted to 57.0%.

Most of the direct foreign investments were in the financial sector totaling 78.1 million USD.

It is 32.9% of the total investment.

The energy sector ranked second with $29.6 million, followed by the construction sector with $27.7 million.
