As reported by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, in January 2020, Georgia had a record number of international travelers, reaching 633,201.

The number exceeds the previous year's data by 19.8%.

As for the number of tourists, it reached 363,614 exceeding the previous year rate by 18.9%.

The most international visitors of Georgia were from Azerbaijan, hitting 124,534 in January 2020. The number exceeds the 2019 January rate, with 34.9%.

Armenia ranks second with 91.580 tourists in Georgia in January 2020, while Russia is third with 86,884 international visits (1.1% growth), and Turkey ranks fourth with 75.012 international visits (16.6% growth).. 

According to the National Tourism Administration, the EU countries also show a positive trend of tourist growth: Italy showed 133.1 percent growth, Poland – 82.9 percent growth, France – 46.8 percent growth, Lithuania – 43.7 percent growth and others.

The number of visits notably increased from Israel, Saudi Rabia, Kazakhstan, and Kuwait.

Under the preliminary data, the income Georgia received from international travelers was 3.3 billion USD that exceeds the previous year's data with 47 million.
