According to the State Commission on Migration Issues of Georgia 2019, Migration Profile (page 53), over the last four years, in the period of 2015-2018, 40% of real estate registered by foreigners in Georgia are by Russian citizens.
Russian citizens registered 15 133 real estate in Georgia in 2015-2018. Iran holds the second place and Ukraine the third.
According to the document, foreigners registered less agricultural land this year, but they own more real estate this year in comparison to the previous one.
The number of Georgian citizens returning from Russia to Georgia has increased in recent years and the number of Georgian citizens going from Georgia to Russia has decreased.
The biggest amount of money transfers (pages 28-29) still come from Russia, but it should be noted that money transfers from Israel and EU member states have also increased in recent years.
