Genadi Arveladze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, took part in the opening ceremony of the Maritime and Railway Forum "Connecting Eurasia: Smart Ports and Rail Forum." The virtual forum is co-organized by the United States Department of Commerce and the US, Turkey, and Azerbaijan Embassies in Georgia. The forum aims to explore opportunities to use modern technology in the maritime and rail sectors and raise awareness of US and international funding instruments.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia focused on the role of digital technologies and solutions in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transport operations. He underlined the steps taken to introduce the principle of one window in Georgian ports and digitize the transport corridor.
From the Georgian side, the Georgian Railway and Maritime Transport Agency heads will participate in the forum. Representatives of both the state and the private sector are invited to the event.
