"Vaccination is delayed in Georgia, and while it is carried out in almost all countries worldwide, Georgia is considered a dangerous zone for tourists," the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants explains. The president of the association is dissatisfied with the government. Alaverdashvili argues that tourists are less interested in Georgia by saying that hotels have almost no guaranteed reservations in the nearest future.
"Georgia is currently on the list of countries where vaccination has not started, and for this reason, countries call on their citizens to refrain from traveling to countries like ours," Shalva Alaverdashvili told report.ge.
Tour operator Eka Khorguani tells us that tourists' interest in Georgia has increased for the past three weeks, but as soon as they learn about the absence of vaccination, they refrain from planning tours.
"Interest from the neighborhood is high, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, but the lack of vaccination forces them to postpone the tours," King Tour director Eka Khorguan told report.ge.
