As reported by the National Bank of Georgia, the weighted average market interest rate on term deposits totaled 6.89%, while the deposits in national currency amounted to 9.47%.
The deposits in foreign currency accounted for 2.67%. The US dollar share among the deposits in a foreign currency equals 84.50%, and in the Euro – 14.11%.
Under the National Bank reports, on February 1, 2020, the volume of non-bank deposits in the bank sector reached 26.47 billion GEL, which includes 216.81 million GEL (83% more than it was on January 1, 2020).
On February 1, 2020, the deposit larization rate reached 36.68%. It increased by 0.65% compared with January 1, 2020.
In January 2020, the volume of term deposits increased by 696.02 million GEL (6.44%) compared with the previous month.
The volume of demand deposits dropped by 479.22 million GEL or 3.10%.
