According to the preliminary data of the National Bank of Georgia, the income from tourism increased by 1.4% and reached 3 billion 268 million USD in 2019.
The rate was 3 billion 222 million USD in 2018.
As per the bank, the indicator decreased after Moscow imposed sanctions in July, but the tourism incomes started increasing in October.
Earlier, Georgian Economic Minister Natia Turnava said that 2019 was beneficial for tourism as Georgia experienced high economic growth.
The country hosted 9 300 0000 visitors in 2019.
