Turkey imports 10.4% fewer products to Georgia

In January - 2020, imports of goods from Turkey to Georgia decreased by 10.4%, the National Statistics Office of Georgia reports.

The volume of imports of the top ten product groups imported from Turkey to Georgia decreased, notably: medicines, ready-made clothing and patterns, metal structures, sanitary napkins, wires, and electric cables, pipes, tubes, and hoses, as well as detergents and cleaners.

Import growth was observed in only three product groups.

In January-April 2020, the volume of imports of pipes, tubes, and hollow sections made of ferrous metals increased by 22.3% than in Jan – Apr 2019.

Imports of oil and petroleum products increased by 15.5%, and the volume of imports of "corners, shaped, and special profiles of iron or non-alloy steel" from Turkey to Georgia rose by 113.3%.
