The Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia's Economic Ministry presents a hackathon 'uHack for Rural Development' aimed at supporting village residents to cope with the COVID-19 challenges.

The facilitation will include the use of digital technologies.

The program will unify all stakeholders, programmers, designers, and activists.

The hackathon will be held on June 5 – 7 on the topic 'Employment and Tourism.'

With the help of mentors, the hackathon participants are to create prototypes of digital product in 72 hrs that should meet the following challenges:

How to help tourist sectors in rural areas to cope with COVID-19

How to help the rural population's employment (especially women) or maintenance of jobs

The winners will receive 20,000 GEL to carry out their projects.

The projects are subject to implementation until the end of August 2020 and should include one or several of the following municipalities:

  • Keda
  • Khulo
  • Borjomi
  • Akhalkalaki
  • Tetritskaro
  • Kazbegi
  • Lagodekhi
  • Dedoplistskaro

Groups and individuals are free to register for the hackathon.
