The United States has been firmly supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its aspiration for the European Union and NATO.

The Charter of Strategic Partnership between the USA and Georgia signed on January 9, 2009, in Washington, envisages deepening cooperation in defence, security, economy, trade, energy, culture and education.

The key economic indicators of the USA and Georgia are as follows:

Georgia-US bilateral relations between date back 28 fruitful years, with many essential projects implemented.

Since 1992 the United States has provided Georgia with the financial assistance of more than 1.8 billion US dollars through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

The USAID programs include economics, civil society development, healthcare, education, and others.

In the 2000s, Georgia became the largest recipient of the US financial assistance in the Eurasian region per capita.

In 2005, the US Millennium Challenge Corporation provided Georgia with $295 million for the modernization of pipelines, roads and municipal infrastructure.

In 2008-2009, the US allocated 1.4 billion USD for Georgia to overcome the consequences of the Russian-Georgian August War.

In 2014-2019 Millennium Challenge Corporation awarded $140 million for the education sector.

Under the preliminary data for 2019, Georgia's GDP totalled 17.7 billion USD (50 billion GEL). Based on the data, the US share in the Georgian economy (in terms of tourism, exports, foreign investment and remittances) equals 2.5%.The volume of Georgian exports has continuously been increasing.

The trade dynamics between the United States and Georgia remains positive.

The new standard of trade between the United States and Georgia, which includes a free trade regime, will take this cooperation to a whole new level.

Based on the 2019 reports, ferroalloys are leading among Georgian goods exported to the USA. In the USA, wines, fruit and vegetable juices, and others are also exported from Georgia.

Unlike Georgian exports, US imports to Georgia are diverse. Here the leading position of one category of goods is traced - cars.

Georgia ranks first in the total imports of ferroalloys in the United States (27%).
