As Georgian Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani says, the government of Georgia has discussed the possibility of banning flights with Italy, but it has not still taken any decision yet.
As he says, the flight ban will only decrease the risk, as the virus may enter from other destinations.
''If we want to protect Georgia absolutely, we should ban all flights. We will have to pay a high cost for it. We also observe how our European partners and friends act, and prefer to follow the way,'' Machavariani says.
Georgia has already suspended flights and land transportation with Iran and China, while flights are still carried out in Italy.
Four people remain infected with the new coronavirus so far, while 93 160 people remain infected worldwide.
