As Georgian Vice PM, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili stated today, the government will announce a tender, and the public will be able to follow the developments closely.
Vice PM Tskitishvili still refrains from declaring a day when the port will be able to get the first ship, adding it is not realistic to say the date, as the government has not announced a tender yet.
She said the government would declare a tender in several months.
''We have not held negotiations with any other investor yet but the Anaklia Development Consortium. We have not started searching for an alternative investor. We will launch the process only after the contract termination. It will take a certain time,'' she said, adding that the government always wanted to have a western or U.S. partner.
''We will not adapt to the investor that will not comply with our strategic interests,'' Tskitishvili stated.
