Today, the National Bank of Georgia plans to sell 40 million USD to facilitate the Georgian currency Lari as it drastically devalued for the last days.
Specialists say 40 million USD will not be enough.
Specialist Nika Shengelia says that the National Bank of Georgia should increase today's intervention by up to a minimum of 60 million to ensure the timely financial response.
Nika Shengelia adds that the National Bank of Georgia is almost always late to carry out interventions.
One USD costs 3.4494 GEL under the exchange rate set by the National Bank yesterday, while the Euro cost is 3.7436.
