The Italian Embassy in Georgia congratulates Georgian chef Valeri Sakhiashvili on winning the National Pizza Championship in Italy.
The pizza prepared by the Georgian chef won first place.
"The Embassy of Italy wholeheartedly congratulates the Georgian chef, Maestro Valeri Sakhiashvili, on the award he received at the "Pizza Capitale Trophy" won in the National Pizza Championship. The competition took place in Rome, organized by Pizza Master Maestro Massimo del Mestre.
The gourmet pizza offered by Valerie at the competition, prepared from artichoke cream, Stracciatella, shrimp wrapped in bacon crust, and bear mushroom powder, became the winner of the competition and took first place.
Many experienced pizza masters from different regions of Italy took part in the competition. A jury of thirteen experts rated the contestants in five categories: Pizza Napoletana, Classic Pizza, Gourmet Pizza, Feature Pizza, and Pizza as Chorizo.
Each pizza master could choose only one category. Valeri Sakhiashvili, who is a pizza master with great experience in Italy and currently works in Avezzano (Abruzzo region), won first place with his excellent creation," the embassy said in a statement.
