According to Levan Gopodze, the director of the Republican Hospital, the patient tested negative for A and B viruses. As for coronavirus, the test answer will become known by the evening.

"The man was at home for several days with a high fever. He was not in isolation, and until the development of respiratory failure, he did not ask the doctors for help. He did not have contact with the resident of Marneuli, who got diagnosed with coronavirus. We placed the patient in a boxed ward. He was in contact with family members, which means they will have to be in special isolation," Levan Gopodze said.

Quarantine was announced late last night in Marneuli and Bolnisi.

The coronavirus infection resulted in this decision in Marneuli after a middle-aged woman infected contacted with more than 80 people. Her health condition is critical.

According to the latest data, there are 54 cases of new coronavirus infection confirmed in Georgia. Eight of them have already recovered, three of them left the clinics. There are 3 254 persons in quarantine and 233 in inpatient care.
