There are more than 50 ways you can make Khachapuri in Georgia. The Gastronomic Association of Georgia, which has researched the traditions of Khachapuri making, notes that, unfortunately, people do not know the various methods of preparation.

The Association believes that the preservation of such intangible assets is the responsibility of every citizen of the country. Moreover, science, business, and the state should contribute to the conservation of cultural heritage.

The Association to preserve intangible values will hold a scientific-educational conference "Khachapuri Tradition in Georgia" on February 27. USAID's Zrda Activity in Georgia supports the event and considers Khachapuri a "national product."

The "Khachapuri Tradition in Georgia" granted the status of intangible cultural heritage. Nikoloz Antidze, the Director-General of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, signed the document.

"Khachapuri is a key to Georgian cuisine and is part of the food ration and Georgian ritual. It is important to promote Khachapuri to increase its recognition as a Georgian product in the international arena," the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation explained.
