"Employees of each unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs tried their best and did everything possible to prevent clashes; we disarmed everyone as much as possible," Lasha Gogniashvili, the head of Kvemo Kartli Police Department, stated.
According to him, law enforcers are mobilized on the spot. Gogniashvili noted that a survey of citizens is underway, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will release a comment shortly.
"We did our best to maintain peace. There are staff members in the Special Assignments Department," Gogniashvili said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has issued a statement calling on the opposing parties in Dmanisi to obey the lawful demands of the police and keep calm.
