According to the State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Irakli Shioshvili, hostages have already left the Kvareli branch of the Bank of Georgia.
"He no longer has hostages. He asks for a different amount every time. So that negotiations are currently underway between law enforcement and him. He is now alone in the bank. He does not say anything; negotiations are underway," said Irakli Shioshvili.
It is yet unknown what kind of deal will be made.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs is in Kvareli; he is expected to comment to the media.
A robber broke into the branch of the Bank of Georgia in Kvareli at around 15:30.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement on the incident. According to the agency, all necessary and urgent measures are underway.
