The law enforcers arrested G.Ch., born in 1984, based on a judge's verdict on human trafficking charges in Tbilisi. The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed report.ge.
"The investigation has established that defendant G.Ch. developed a human trafficking plan in order to obtain material benefits. He systematically exploited N.Ch., born in 1976, in labor, in particular, by humiliating, abusing, and threatening to use physical violence, forcing to beg for mercy in different streets of Tbilisi daily. The defendant would have appropriated the money collected by N.A.," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
According to the agency, the investigation into the fact of trafficking is underway under the first part of Article 143 of the Criminal Code.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 12 years in prison.
