Two persons have been arrested, and three have been prosecuted for making and using fake tax documents by prior agreement with the group and a large amount of property damage to the state budget. Report.ge was informed by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance.
According to the Investigative Service, the investigation revealed that defendants prepared and used forged tax invoices for a total of GEL 762,000 worth of fictitious supplies of goods and services in the name of the companies under their management in the period of 2020 in order to obtain illegal material benefits. This way, they created counterfeit assets in the amount of GEL 116,234, which were then fully used to cover the existing liabilities to the budget.
According to the Investigative Service, the case is under investigation under Article 210, Part 2, and Article 185, Parts 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years.
