ADY Express upgrades cargo handling technology

Closed wagons transported cargo by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. It is the first time that ADY Express Ltd., a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, has transported cargo in closed wagons, which is considered to be an improved technological process.

This time, the company shipped the cargo for the poultry farms from Turkey to Azerbaijan. The first batch contains 1 000 tons, of which 300 tons have already been transported through Georgia.

ADY Express starts exporting by "Baku-Tbilisi-Kars" railway. In 2020, ADY Express transported a total of 49,739 tons of cargo via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, of which 97% was transit cargo, and 3% was imported. For comparison, in 2019, the company managed to transport 25,722 tons of cargo via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
