The popularity of olives on the market is growing. The olive production in Georgia was a joint project created with the support of the Dutch-Turkish investment and the state-funded project Co-financing of Agricultural Products Processing Enterprises. The total number of investments in the enterprise is GEL 5 million, employing 800 people. More than 1000 hectares is planned to be doubled in the cooperation with Kakheti Traditional Farming Company in the future. Olive Enterprise is equipped with modern technologies, which enables the production of high quality competitive Georgian products.
According to Giorgi Svanidze, the founder of Georgian Olives, this year's harvest is double the amount it was last year, so the company plans to increase the production of olive oil. 100 tons of olives will be processed this year, compared to 40 tons last year.
250 grams of olive oil costs GEL 9, 500 grams GEL 14 and 750 grams GEL 18. The price of Georgian olive oil is, 5 liters - GEL 100, 10 liters - GEL 180 and 18 liters - GEL 320.
