Infection does not care who is whose son - this is how Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of NCDC, commented on his son being infected with the coronavirus.
According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, all contacts of Nikoloz Gamkrelidze are identified.
“There is nothing to conceal, my son has spread the information, it is his civic responsibility, and he has the right to do it. The infection does not know who is whose son; it goes to anybody. My son was in contact with the cluster who returned from Italy. These are his colleagues, they attended the Thursday meeting together with my son, and there is a high probability that he got infected there. My son has stayed in self-isolation during the last two days; his first test was doubtful; hence we considered it reasonable to make another test. Yesterday he was proved to be infected. He has listed all his contacts and sent it to the NCDC; now these contacts are tested intensively.”- said Gamkrelidze.
At present, there are twelve coronavirus cases registered in Georgia.
