Azerbaijan files lawsuit against Armenia in the UN International Court of Justice

Azerbaijan has appealed to the UN International Court of Justice against Armenia for violating the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The statement of the International Court of Justice reveals. The Azerbaijani media spread the information.

"According to the applicant, Armenia participated and continues to commit a series of discriminatory acts against Azerbaijanis because of their national or ethnic origin. The applicant alleges that Armenia, both directly and indirectly, pursues a policy of ethnic cleansing and incites hatred and ethnic violence against Azerbaijanis, uses hate speech, and spreads racist propaganda, including at the highest levels of government," the statement said.

According to the document, the Azerbaijani side adds that the attempt to negotiate a settlement of claims in the last ten months had no results. Therefore, Azerbaijan asks the International Court of Justice to hold Armenia accountable.
