President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has dissolved the fifth convocation of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and called for early parliamentary elections by signing the corresponding order. The early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 9 February 2020.
The President approved the parliament's appeal on the dissolution of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and calling for early parliamentary elections on December 2.
The initiative on dissolution the parliament was put forward by the representatives of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) on Nov 28.
