An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 hit the coast of Chile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) says.
The epicenter was eight kilometers southwest of the Chilean city of Coquimbo, with the focus at a depth of ten kilometers.
No information was reported on casualties and damage.
Chile’s seismological service says there is no tsunami threat.
