Erdogan addresses Azerbaijani President, military and people at victory parade

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed President Ilham Aliyev, the people of Azerbaijan, and the heroic military at a victory parade and said he was honored to share the joy of the victory of the Azerbaijani people.

"We share the joy of your victory. I thank my brother Mr. Ilham Aliyev for the invitation and hospitality. I wish peace upon the souls of the brave sons of Azerbaijan, who fell heroically in the 44-day war. I also wish a quick recovery for those wounded," Erdoğan said.

According to the Turkish President, cities and villages were destroyed during the war. The country has suffered heavy losses. In this challenging moment, Turkey stands by Azerbaijan as a brother and a friend.

"As my brother, Ilham Aliyev, said, not a single building survived in the city of Fizuli to raise the flag there. All cities have been destroyed, villages, cemeteries and even mosques," he said.

"Armenians robbed historical and cultural values, as well as destroyed everything else. They will have to pay. During the war, Azerbaijani territories such as Ganja, Terter, Aghdam, Barda, Agjabedi were targeted. One hundred civilians were martyred, mothers were left without children, children left without parents. 416 of our brothers were injured in the attacks. Martial law has been grossly violated; human dignity has been dragged. Those who do not see it are blind and have a blind conscience. It is our duty to give a proper answer to all this," Erdogan said.
