France's Macron extends state of emergency

French President Macron has extended a state of emergency for four weeks, before 11 May. In his words, progress has been achieved, but the country is still at war with the virus. 

Before 11 May, all citizens with COVID-19 will be subject to testing, according to Macron. 

The death toll in France from the new coronavirus outbreak has risen to 14,967 from 14,393 a day earlier.
