Confirmed coronavirus cases have surpassed 40 million globally. 

According to Johns Hopkins University, 19 October data shows a total of 40,535,257 people have been infected with the virus since it began; 1,121,390 people have now died from the coronavirus, while 30,257,472 have beaten it.

As of Georgia, it recorded 1186 new cases of the novel virus in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 18,663. The country's death toll is now at 143. A total of 8,338 citizens have so far recovered (278 recent).
