The Greek authorities banned municipalities and churches from carrying out Holy Fire to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
As the Easter holiday approaches, the government introduced other additional bans.
According to the Minister of Civil Protection, control over the highways will double, and in case of violation, the amount of the fine will increase to 300 Euros. The residents will have the right to move to another city, but will not be able to return.
Since the spread of the virus, 1,884 cases of coronavirus got reported in Greece, killing 83 people.
