The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has fired the head of the country's National Security Service, Argishti Karamyan. The President's press service spreads the information.
"Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, Armen Sarkissian signed an order dismissing the National Security Service head," the statement said.
The President did not comment on the reason for the dismissal.
Sarkissian appointed Mikael Ambartsumian as the Deputy Head of the Security Service.
