The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, held telephone consultations with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Borrell wrote about it on Twitter.
"I spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov. Underlined need to defuse tensions and to a ceasefire. Direct communication between the two sides is essential and re-engagement in substantive negotiations under OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs," reads the statement.
