The first President of Kazakhstan, 79-year-old Nursultan Nazarbayev, has coronavirus. He is currently in self-isolation. Information about Nazarbayev's health condition got posted on his website.
"The latest test of the nation's leader on the coronavirus infection has unfortunately shown a positive result. There is no reason for concern. Nursultan Nazarbayev continues to work remotely," the statement said.
There are currently 15,877 cases of COVID-19 infection in Kazakhstan, while 9,902 people recovered, and 100 died.
