Opponents of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, demanding his resignation, stormed the government building in Yerevan, home to several ministries.

Opposition groups held a rally in the lobby located downstairs. They called on the agencies' representatives not to take part in the actions of Pashinyan's supporters. They left the building after slogans about the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"We are ending the rally. Our goal was to show that we can enter any ministry," said one of the protesters.

Earlier, a meeting of the Security Council chaired by Nikol Pashinyan took place. The meeting participants discussed the problems related to the internal and external security of Armenia, the challenges facing the state, and the ways to solve them.

Armenian President Armen Sargsyan and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, did not attend the meeting.

The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan dismissed the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, who had previously demanded his resignation. Pashinyan said the request by the Chief of the General Staff was an attempt at a military coup. A statement from the Armed Forces General Staff said that the government could not make adequate decisions for the people in times of crisis. Armenian President Armen Sargsyan did not sign the decision to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan. The head of the Armenian government addressed the President of the country with a request for the second time.
