Albert Bourla, the Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer, is confident that the vaccine they produce will be effective against a new strain of the coronavirus found in the UK. The specialist says that defeating the coronavirus will take some time, and before returning to a normal life, everyone should wear masks and follow the rules.
"It will take some time to get acquainted with the new strain and find out how dangerous it is. As for the vaccines, I am optimistic that they will be just as effective against this strain, but we do not know anything for sure yet. Now studies are underway. We will have answers in two weeks," Bourla said.
The first batch of Pfizer and Bionteck vaccines will be delivered to EU countries from 26 December.
