In Almaty, Kazakhstan, police arrested tens of anti-government protesters, Reuters informs.

Central Asian nation has often criticized human rights groups for demanding the justification of acts of public protest. At the end of the last month, the country President, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law eliminating the decree.

At least one hundred activists are arrested in Almaty. The protesters were carrying the slogan, “Old man, go!”. By this slogan, the protesters demanded minimization of the former president, Nursultan Nazarbayev’s influences. Another demand from the protesters was the resignation of the current president, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev.

After a short collision with the police, tens of protesters were arrested.
