Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia arrested two heads of two companies for production and use of false tax documents, as well as deceiving the owner of a property who later suffered material damage.
The investigation established that the defendants for getting illegal material benefits made fictitious deliveries of wood by filing false tax documents on behalf of the companies under their management. As a result, one of the companies artificially produced the balance of the wood material and a VAT asset that subsequently partially applied to cover the budgetary obligations. The damage to the budget exceeds GEL 100,000.
The investigation is in progress under article 210 and the third part article 185 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
