SABA has announced its 19th writing competition, with authors and editors already enabled to submit their books. To participate in the competition, they have to fill out the electronic application on the webpage saba.com.ge.
The deadline to send applications is 23 February, after which SABA jury members will start reviewing books and assessing them.
Best 2021 books and authors will be announced in nine nominations, which are as follows:
- The best novel.
- The best poetry book.
- The best collection of prose.
- The best play.
- The best literary debut.
- The best literary criticism.
- The best collection of essays and documentary prose.
- The best Georgian translation of foreign literature.
- A unique contribution to the development of Georgian literature.
The list of competition books was published in March. The same books will also be available electronically in the SABA Reader.
TBC Bank and poet Rati Amaglobeli founded the SABA literary Competition in 2002; SABA has so far awarded 139 authors and issued 170 prizes.
Competition finalists will be announced in July of 2021, and the award ceremony will be held in the autumn.
