Famous Georgian artist Zurab Nizharadze died.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Georgia expresses its condolences over the death of Zurab Nizharadze.
As the agency notes in the text of condolences, the death of Zurab Nizharadze is a great loss for Georgian culture.
"Zurab Nizharadze was a representative of a distinguished generation of artists of the 50s of the twentieth century. Due to his different artistic vision and creative freedom revealed in his youth, his friends associated him with Pablo Picasso and nicknamed him "Pico." Zurab Nizharadze's works are preserved in various museums in Georgia, as well as in the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Gallery in Rio de Janeiro, private collections in the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, Greece, and other countries.
People's Artist of Georgia was a laureate of the Rustaveli Prize," the statement said.
