"The Ministry of Internal Affairs officers detained drug dealers in Tbilisi, Ponichala settlement, Rustavi, Batumi, and Kutaisi, as well as in Bolnisi municipality," said Mamuka Chelidze, the Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the briefing.
Twenty people have been arrested on charges of attempted illegal purchase, possession, sale of large quantities of drugs as a group.
The investigation found that the accused were systematically selling drugs to citizens. The foreign nationals detained by the police were the couriers of an organized group of drug dealers on the social network.
Crimes range from 8 to 20 years or life in prison.
