Officers of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have detained four people due to investigative actions on the fact of making and selling a large amount of counterfeit money organized by a group.
According to the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance, it was established that the accused, in order to obtain illegal material benefits, made GEL 11 300 using 113 counterfeit GEL 100 banknotes through trade facilities and fast payment machines in different regions of Georgia.
The investigation was launched under the 3rd and 4th parts of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years.
