Tbilisi City Court sentenced Gogi Tsualia to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
At the hearing, the prosecution requested custody, while the defense requested leaving without restraint and a bail of GEL 5,000. The judge granted the motion of the prosecutor's office.
According to the decision of the judge, Zviad Sharadze, the session was taking place behind closed doors. According to him, there may have been signs of sexual crime, which is why the session should have been held behind closed doors.
Gogi Tsulaia was charged under Article 138 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates similar acts of sexual violence. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 4 to 6 years in prison.

Gogi Tsulaia was arrested on March 17. The victim in the case is a young woman who accuses Tsulaia of sexual violence.
Tsulaia went on a hunger strike in the pre-trial detention center in protest.
