The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested the wanted person Z.O., born in 1983, for the murder that took place in Poti in 2020. He was arrested in Kareli municipality; the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed report.ge.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
"The investigation found that in July 2020, Z.O. and his accomplices physically assaulted V.T., born in 1976, then illegally detained him and, using a sharp object and a firearm, inflicted life-threatening wounds, feeding the scene afterward. As a result of the injuries received, V.T. died at the clinic.
Police arrested three people and another one in the following days due to operative and investigative measures carried out on the hot trail.
Investigation launched into the case under Article 109, Part 2, Subparagraph "e" and Part 3, Subparagraph "b," Article 143, Part 2, Subparagraph "g," as well as Part 3 of the same Article under Subparagraph "e," which means premeditated murder committed by a group with special cruelty under aggravating circumstances and illegal deprivation of liberty," the statement said.
